At the tender, tried, and true age of 40, I made the decision to pursue the dream that had slowly developed in my mind over the preceding 5 years: writing, baking, and farming for a living.  In January 2010, I walked away from my steady job for a life of freelancing in these three areas, and despite the ups and downs, I haven’t looked back.

This site chronicles my farming adventures — going beyond backyard gardening to something more substantial — and the knowledge and experience gained.  The other aspects of my dream are covered elsewhere:

To some, this may look like a “midlife crisis.”  I prefer to think of it as midlife enlightenment, and I plan to learn all I can about living my dream.
